twenty-four/seven

I took a tour of NPR.

I met Bob Boilen.

I saw the desk where Tiny Desk Concerts are filmed.

This is better than all of those things.

All Songs Considered’s 24/7 music stream which is basically like what radio should be, but isn’t anymore.

Their recent show aboutmusic that got you through your teensinspired me to write a post I’ve been meaning to write for years, now. Stay tuned for that but, for now, if you’re not listening to 91.9, listen to All Songs Considered (or This American Life)…you goobs.

This is your brain on Hogs.

more and more and more.

It’s no secret that I heart NPR. I adore just about everything about NPR except A Prairie Home Companion…and even then, I still think it’d be cool to hang out with Garrison Keillor. I love Car Talk, All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Weekend Edition, This American Life (Ira Glass is more of a stud than Steve Inskeep…sorry, Steve.) Anyway, if you’ve paid any attention at all to my Facebook page, my Facebook group, my Twitter or myBlip FM you can’t have helped but notice that my beloved NPR is streaming my even more beloved Camera Obscura’s newest album, My Maudlin Career. You can get a preview of the first single, French Navy on today’s All Songs Considered at NPR.org. In addition, there is some awesome stuff from Metric, John Vanderslice and PJ Harvey. There is all manner of other badass audio available from Metric vocalist Emily Haines. I’m sure if you do a search you can find much more fantastic stuff. Feel free to post it in the comments if you think I should give it a listen or, perhaps, play it on my show.

Talk hard!
